SEMINARS

  • Protecting All God’s Children

39 million people in the United States have experienced sexual abuse in some form.  Sadly, most victims live among us with near-invisibility.  This seminar is a valuable resource for ministers and ministry teams to create environments in which those who have been victims of sexual abuse can find support and healing.  This “Protecting All God’s Children” seminar is intended to help ministry teams help congregations prevent sexual abuse and promote healing for all in their church.

  • Survivors and Supporters: Dialogues for Change

A premise of therapy and/ or support groups is that isolation maintains the deep and disabling trauma of sexual abuse.  Victims often feel isolated.  Victims need to have a safe environment in which they can share their stories. This seminar brings together survivors and potential survivor supporters (active listeners and companions with survivors) as they come to reconstruct their own identities and futures.

Dr. Romo shares four basic aspects of safe organizations.
